Why do you run? I run to challenge myself and see how fast I can become. Running competitively is something that I need to do right now because I don't ever want to look back twenty years from now and wonder what I could have done.

The best thing about being a Hansons-Brooks athlete? That right now I have a chance to do something I love everyday. I've been able to travel to a lot of places I never would have seen, and I've been able to meet some wonderful people along the way. My roommates help keep me from going insane and keep life interesting.

What have you learned since joining the Hansons-Brooks ODP? Running is a very patient sport. It takes years and years of training to accomplish your goals. Running can also be very frustrating because you don't always have control over when you get injured, sick, or tired.

When did you start running? I didn't start running until college. I walked onto a DIII program at SUNY Geneseo to keep active for a year before I joined the soccer team. I was lucky enough to have an incredible coach in Mike Woods, and I never looked back.

What challenges do you face as an athlete? One of the hardest things about being a runner is you can do everything right, and work as hard as you possibly can but sometimes things just don't work out how you expect them too. Especially in the marathon, you dedicate all your time to one race and if things don't go exactly right you might not end up with the outcome you were expecting.

What do you like to do when you're not running? Make dinner with my roommates. Go grocery shopping. Watch seasons of TV shows.
